History of Thorens lighters

    In 1883, the Thorens family business was first registered in Sainte-Croix (Ste-Croix), Vaud, Switzerland by Hermann Thorens. It produced phonographs, music boxes and cigarette lighters .
    Thorens’s first lighter patent was applied for in 1919 and many original patented models followed. They are displayed in various lighters publications and museums.
