How to repair A THORENS double claw lighter?

First of all, we understand the THORENS double-hook lighter model, the parts diagram is as follows:

Second, let's replace the flint:

Holding lighter in your left hand,lower cover partially as inillustration(A),at the same time,with key,screwdriver or similar instrument,slightly twist flint wheel to the left and release cover.Spring and double arm will snap free as shown in illustration(B).Shake out old fint and drop new flint in holder as in illustration(B).Place spring on top of flint,bring double arm all the way down as shown in illustration (C)and close cover.

Third,replace wick and fill lighters:

TO   REPLACE   WICK

Pry up chimney with small screw  driver  as  shown  in illustration(H).Unscrew fluid cap and remove all cotton and old wick.In-sert new Thorens wick with long wire making certain that end of wick reaches to bottom of lighter  and  put back   the cotton.Thread other end through chimney and press back in place Trim off frayed edges and wire.

TO  FILL  LIGHTERS

Unscrew fluid cap with any small coin as shown in il- lustration(J)and fill care- fully.Shake out all excess fuel.Close fuel chamber tightly with coin and wipe lighter with  soft  cloth.Fill your lighters regularly,us- ing only Thorens or other special  lighting  fluids.Do not use substitutes.Note space for extra fint inside  fluid  cap.(M)

Then,replace striking wheel:

TO  REPLACE STRIKING WHEEL

Release  spring  and  arm  as shown in illustrations  (A and  B).Remove  the  axle screw of striking wheel with screw driver as shown in illustration(F).Shake   out old striking wheel and flint.When putting in the new wheel,it is important that printing on the wheelshall be visible as shown in illus-tration(G).Replace axle screw and close cover as shown  in  illustration(C).

Final step,changing spring:

CHANGING SPRING

Release spring and double arm as shown in illustration (A and      B).This is      the same procedure as changing fint.Then unscrew cover hinge with small screw  driver  and  remove old spring with screw driver as  shown  in  illustration (D).Insert new  spring directly under back of cover as  shown  in  illustrations (D and E).Replace hinge and  screw.Bring  double arm all the way down as shown in illustration (C) and close cover.

If arm gets stuck in cover of lighter,pry loose with key or similar object,as shown in illustration(K) and close cover as in illus- tration(C).
