Each Hand-Carved lighter begins as a solid brass body, individually hand-engraved using traditional metal engraving techniques rather than automated or laser processes.
Surface patterns are carved line by line with hand engraving gravers, with each piece requiring at least two hours of focused manual engraving.
Created exclusively within the THORENS workshop, the Hand-Carved Series reflects a Swiss-designed approach to craftsmanship where individual variation is intentionally preserved.

Ce briquet Golden Retriever est un briquet à essence rechargeable, doté d’un corps en métal à finition bronze antique, d’une tête de chien sculptée et d’un décor arrière de collier et chaîne. Il s’adresse aux amateurs de briquets de collection inspirés du monde animal, à la présence sculpturale affirmée.
Conçu autour de la silhouette reconnaissable d’un chien aux oreilles tombantes, ce briquet exprime une douceur calme à travers des contours du visage finement sculptés et des textures de fourrure fluides. Sa finition bronze antique est obtenue par un procédé d’oxydation à effet vieilli, créant des tonalités métalliques riches et irrégulières qui soulignent la profondeur, les variations de surface et le caractère industriel vintage, plutôt qu’un poli uniforme.

– Système de briquet à essence rechargeable compatible avec l’essence à briquet standard (kérosène)

Hand-Carved Craftsmanship

Following engraving, each lighter is hand-finished through manual sanding, polishing, and a controlled vintage aging process to enhance depth, contrast, and tactile character.

The presentation box is a nice addition with a pull out draw with the lighter in a cloth branded pull string bag . The lighter is nice and heavy , a well made solid lighter which lights first time and doesn't feel flimsy and light unlike another well known petrol lighter. Will definitely be building a collection.

Wonderful lighter that sparks every time you flip open the top camp. Plus the flint wheele you always have plenty of spare flints on hand. I also carry a fluid canister on my keychain so I always have all the essentials with me. Overall the Asprey is a work of art and a functional unit at the same time.

There are lighters and then there are lighters. This is the later. Unconventional look. Performers really well for a pipe. Somewhat different to get use to it but flame will come out upward but as soon as you draw on your pipe...flame reverses and you get a very nice top of pipe burn.
