It’s solid, reliable & most of all the design hasn’t changed from the original back in early 1900’s. Which is to me says that it’s good, otherwise it would have changed. It’s great for everyday use or putting into my collection.
Top of the line lighter! Only thing that is maybe minus,lighter is a bit smaller. Or my palm is to big. Other than that,as advertised!

Not too bulky and works pretty well
It uses lighter fluid and looks pretty much exactly like sanjis lighter and MAKES THE CRISP PING SOUND REALLY NICELY!
Definitely runs out fast though so it would be best as a more time to time display unless you have the money to constantly refill the wick and lighter fluid.

Beautiful lighter and the craftsmanship is outstanding. This makes such a nice edition to my evening pipe ritual. Just because it's manufactured in China doesn't mean it's not top quality. Note that this lighter takes about 20 plus openings to become consistent with lighting since the flint needs to grind down enough to conform to the grinding wheel.
This lighter impressed me!
I have many lighters and some vintage Thorens as well. I must say, the quality and feel of this new lighter is better than the vintage ones.
I would definitely buy another one!

Schöne Verarbeitung und schön anzusehen. Leider lösen sich die Zahnräder und müssen nachgezogen werden und es ist zu wenig Watte um ausreichend benzin für lange Nutzung zu halten. Selbstverständlich behebbar, bei anderen Herstellern aber nicht notwendig.
The lighter is of good quality. And reminds me of the one I had 50 years ago!!! Which I paid eight or nine dollar for back then.

This is a fabulous lighter in all terms: great build quality, highly reliable and - if you are used to Zippo lighters and how fast they lose lighter fuel - no loss of lighter fuel so far: I filled up this little thing three weeks ago and haven't used it in this period. And I started it now and BAM! It lighted up immediately! Try the same with a Zippo 😖
Even the flintstone replacement is easy and straight forward. Now, whenever I will buy another lighter, I will only go for Thorens!

Overall great build quality!, but I had some of the gold plating fall off from the screw head very quickly, leaving a white paint undercoat.
I recommend buying it!
