THORENS · Pipe Lighters

THORENS pipe lighters bring the soft flame closer to the pipe bowl through two distinct mechanical approaches: TELEFLAM uses a telescopic arm, while Flamido combines a rotating body with dual side flame outlets.

This collection brings those purpose-built designs together so you can choose by flame positioning and ignition action. Both use lighter fluid, a wick, and replaceable flints; finishes and mechanisms vary by model.

What Defines a THORENS Pipe Lighter?

A pipe lighter is selected for the way its flame can be positioned toward a bowl. This collection includes models with an extendable arm or adjustable side outlets, rather than every pocket lighter capable of producing a soft flame.

Choose the construction that suits your grip and pipe shape. These are refillable fluid lighters with a traditional wick flame, so fuel choice and maintenance remain part of ownership.

Who Is This Collection For?

For users who want deliberate flame placement and a visible mechanical action.

Thoughtful Gift Buyers

Choose by the recipient’s pipe ritual, operating preference, and preferred finish.

How These Pipe Lighters Position the Flame

TELEFLAM ignites through the Single Claw mechanism when its lid opens. Moving the side control downward raises the telescopic arm approximately 2.5 cm, helping position the flame toward the bowl.

Flamido requires manual ignition. Pull out the Pull-Cap, rotate the flint wheel, and adjust the rotating body to use the side outlets at a suitable angle.

Two Actions, Two Experiences

The TELEFLAM arm is operated separately from lid opening. Flamido uses manual flint-wheel ignition; it is not an automatic Single Claw model.

TELEFLAM Glossy Brass Finish

The same telescopic approach with a polished brass appearance.

Flamido

Materials, Fuel, and Daily Use

Metal bodies, refillable fluid systems, and replaceable flints support repeat use. TELEFLAM product specifications identify brass construction and a Safety Lock; check each model’s details for its features.

Silver and gold names describe finishes, rather than solid precious-metal construction.

These models use compatible petroleum-based lighter fluid, not butane gas. They ship without fuel. Read the pipe lighter guide before choosing.

Care and Maintenance

  • Use compatible lighter fluid; do not overfill.
  • Wipe away spills and allow excess fluid to evaporate fully before ignition.
  • Replace worn flints and maintain the wick according to the model instructions.
  • Keep telescopic joints, rotating connections, and flame outlets clean; do not force moving parts.
  • Extinguish the flame fully before closing or replacing the cap.
  • Keep away from heat and children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which THORENS lighters are designed for pipes?

This collection includes TELEFLAM telescopic-arm models and the Flamido rotating-body lighter.

Does TELEFLAM extend automatically when opened?

Lid opening activates Single Claw ignition. The side control operates the telescopic arm separately.

Is Flamido an automatic lighter?

No. Pull out the cap and manually turn the flint wheel to ignite it.

Do these pipe lighters use butane?

No. These models use lighter fluid with a wick-based soft flame.

Will every lighter fit every pipe bowl?

Bowl shape, reach, and grip differ. Compare the model dimensions and flame positioning before buying.

Are these vintage originals?

No. This collection contains current THORENS products, rather than used historical lighters.
