Product Descriptions
This THORENS Gen-7 Single Claw TELEFLAM lighter is a refillable soft flame fluid pipe lighter and cigar lighter crafted from solid brass, featuring automatic ignition, a Telescopic Arm mechanism with mechanical linkage, Safety Lock design, an untreated polished brass surface, and an independent serial number engraved on the bottom. It is designed for users who appreciate Swiss mechanical lighter craftsmanship, visible ignition movement, natural brass aging, and practical ignition use for pipes, cigars, or refined everyday carry.
Built around the Single Claw mechanical structure, this TELEFLAM model combines claw-driven ignition with a Telescopic Arm mechanism for a more tactile and visually engaging ignition experience. When the lid is opened, the Single Claw engages the flint wheel, creates a vivid burst of sparks, and ignites the soft flame. When the side gear on the lighter body is rotated downward by hand, the Telescopic Arm rises approximately 2.5 cm / 1 inch, positioning the soft flame more comfortably for pipe ignition, cigar ignition, and everyday flame use. Its untreated brass surface is intentionally left without electroplating, allowing oxidation marks, patina, and light hairlines to develop naturally through regular handling and use.
Key structural details:
- Refillable fluid lighter system designed for long-term use
- Automatic ignition driven by the Single Claw mechanical structure
- Telescopic Arm mechanism with mechanical linkage, suitable for pipe, cigar, and everyday ignition use
- Safety Lock screw can be tightened to help prevent accidental opening during carry
- Fuel screw with built-in spare flint storage compartment
This lighter is suitable for:
- Users looking for a mechanical pipe and cigar lighter with visible Single Claw ignition movement
- Collectors who appreciate TELEFLAM, Telescopic Arm, or Swiss mechanical lighter designs
- Pipe and cigar users who prefer a refillable soft flame fluid lighter with a raised flame position
- Everyday carry users who appreciate tactile ignition, solid brass weight, and natural brass patina
- Buyers seeking a refined gift for men, vintage mechanical lighter, or collectible lighter
It may not be ideal if:
- You require a flawless, scratch-free surface finish
- You prefer butane jet-flame or torch-style lighters
- You want a disposable or maintenance-free lighter
- You do not want natural oxidation, patina, hairlines, or handling marks to appear over time
Additional Note
Each piece is carefully hand-polished and intentionally left without electroplating. As a result, slight surface texture, fine scratches, hairlines, oxidation marks, or small handling marks may appear and should be understood as part of the brass material’s natural character rather than a defect.
Crafted from solid brass, this lighter showcases the metal’s authentic tone and character. It feels substantial in hand, develops warmth with use, and gradually forms a unique patina that reflects the way it is carried, handled, and maintained over time.
Proper refilling, flint replacement, and wick care help maintain consistent ignition performance while allowing the untreated brass surface to age naturally and evenly over time.

Hubert.

Beautiful lighter and the craftsmanship is outstanding. This makes such a nice edition to my evening pipe ritual. Just because it's manufactured in China doesn't mean it's not top quality. Note that this lighter takes about 20 plus openings to become consistent with lighting since the flint needs to grind down enough to conform to the grinding wheel.

👍👍👍

Beautiful materials and design, but its hard to hold and doesn’t light every time, like 1 out of 3 time it creates a flame.

The ignition is impressively built and shows excellent craftsmanship. The attention to detail is outstanding, and the workmanship really shines. It pleasantly exceeded my expectations and was a very welcome surprise.

This lighter is very well made. I feel it should use a little more cotton on the inside but the quality is superb. Works very well with my pipes. Looking at making a later purchase.
A
It’s solid, reliable & most of all the design hasn’t changed from the original back in early 1900’s. Which is to me says that it’s good, otherwise it would have changed. It’s great for everyday use or putting into my collection.

Amazing quality

I can’t compare it to the 1920s version as I don’t have one of those in my collection yet, but I can say that this one is very high quality. The case is very solid, no flex or give anywhere. The telescoping feature is what drew me to it (I smoke a pipe) and that part works great.
Overall I’m pretty impressed. I didn’t know what to expect, but I took a chance because I love that someone has the knowledge and passion for taking on one of the petrol lighter legacies.
You can tell they actually care. They are not just making cheap knock offs, if that’s what you’re thinking.
Take a chance. I think you’ll be impressed, too.

I ordered on 6th july, the lighters arrived on 1st august. The quality is great, the videos on the website are accurate. I don‘t like the China-bashing, it is not made in Switzerland, so what? Chinese companies can also make great products. Thank you and greetings from Germany👍
M
I call this my indoor lighter. If there is any wind or even a slight breeze it goes out. However in your home or garage it is elegant and super cool
J
The Thorens website gives the impression that this is a product from Switzerland, but these are products from China that have copied the old lighters. The quality is decent, and it works as it should. However, I think the price is somewhat high considering it’s not authentic.
T
Sehr schön verarbeitet, die ganze Mechanik funktioniert einwandfrei.

Hello, you have exceeded my expectations. A very elegant appearance and excellent engineering—top-quality craftsmanship, which is exactly what one would expect from Thorens. I might purchase another model soon. Thank you very much!
D
Heavy, good in hand. Ignite is strong, so I must throw new rocks after one week. Wick is not inside a wool to properly get wet an give off fumes, all becouse of that pulled out rod. After rearranging wick and add some wool, I refill it once a week with heavy using.
C
It took a little while to receive this lighter and after a little confusion about whether it was sent i was very pleased to receive it. The surprise was for the long delay there was a 2nd lighter as a free present. Thank you so much
F
I fill the lighter with fluid and it probably stays in it for an hour, and then it won’t light until I refill it
L
A fantastic Lighter🔥, made with great skill and perfect….like…the old days of Thorens lighters 😊👍👍
B
Just received the lighter and I must say it’s an exquisite recreation of the original Thorens. Shipping was a bit difficult to track but once it got here I’ve been very pleased.
