How does the Flat Top CNC mechanism work?

The Flat Top CNC platform uses a manually operated, removable flint-wheel assembly. Copper ignition-assist plates positioned on both sides of the wheel help support consistent spark generation. Wind vents around the wick reduce direct airflow across the wick and flame, improving stability in light outdoor wind.

This is a traditional wick-based soft flame with a degree of wind resistance, making it suitable for everyday carry and general outdoor use. Performance will still vary with wind speed and holding angle; it is not the same as a butane torch or jet flame.

A side-mounted securing structure holds the removable insert firmly inside the case, reducing unwanted movement during opening and everyday use. A pull-out refill plug in the base provides routine fuel access without requiring removal of the complete bottom module.

Once removed from the case, the brass insert can still operate independently, making inspection, cleaning, and maintenance more convenient. The removable flint-wheel assembly also provides access for clearing ignition debris and inspecting the flint channel. The collection is not designed around a pronounced opening sound; closing the lid produces a clear, solid mechanical response.
