Product Descriptions
This Gen 2 Double Claw lighter is a refillable soft flame fluid lighter built with a solid brass body, a THORENS Double Claw automatic ignition mechanism, an electroplated polished gold tone finish, deep blue vertical stripe detailing, and an independent serial number engraved on the bottom. It is designed for users who value exposed mechanics, tactile operation, and long term everyday carry reliability.
The Double Claw mechanism is activated when the lid opens, with two claws precisely engaging the flint wheel to generate a clean spark and ignite the soft flame. Through motion, sound, and tactile feedback, it delivers a crisp ignition feel with more mechanical character than standard pocket lighters.
The design centers on warm contrast and surface depth. The electroplated polished gold tone body catches light with a refined vintage glow, while the deep blue vertical stripes add a calm, rich accent across the front and lid. The stripe detailing appears recessed into the metal surface, giving the lighter a more dimensional feel instead of a flat decorative look. The result is elegant without feeling flashy, combining classic gold warmth with a darker blue tone that gives the piece a more collectible THORENS character.
Key construction details:
• Refillable fluid lighter system for long term use
• Automatic ignition driven by the Double Claw mechanical linkage
• Solid brass body construction with substantial hand feel
• Safety Lock screw can be tightened to help prevent accidental opening during carry
• Fuel screw with built in spare flint storage compartment
This lighter is suitable for:
• Users who prefer vintage brass fluid lighters with visible mechanical action
• Everyday carry users who value a refillable lighter with soft flame ignition and tactile feedback
• Collectors interested in Double Claw lighters, exposed mechanisms, and THORENS heritage details
• Buyers looking for a collectible mechanical lighter, premium gift for men, or distinctive gift for mechanical lighter collectors
It may not be ideal if:
• You prefer butane torch or jet flame lighters
• You want a disposable or fully maintenance free lighter
• You prefer plain metal finishes without color accented surface details
Routine refilling, flint replacement, basic wick care, and surface maintenance help maintain consistent ignition performance while preserving the electroplated polished gold tone finish, deep blue stripe detailing, Double Claw mechanical linkage, and refined mechanical character over time.

small, compact, easy to use and refill, its very neat, as soon as I saw it out of the box it looked so elegant, minimalist design. its not windproof and the glossy finish will leave fingerprints on it, however with some engraving you can put a nice texture on it if you like. it is pretty heavy, all of thorens lighters are and that takes away the disposable feel completely out of it. im considering buying one for myself

Took a while to come but they gave me 2 free lighters for the wait so in total i have 4 lighters from them and they are all of excellent quality and standard

I’m not a smoker, but I was looking for a vintage Thorens lighter, when I found they are still manufactured today. I love this lighter for what it is: a classic bit of engineering with a clever lighting mechanism which flips open the lid and instantly lights the wick. It has a wonderful weight and feel to it and fits beautifully in the palm of the hand. Be prepared for a long wait for it to arrive (I believe it comes directly from China), but I don't regret the wait and they replied attentively to emails.
