Gen 1 - Single Claw - Spirit Claw

UPDATE: THORENS Customer Service Team has replaced the lighter, and stood by their customer service and quality of products! Things that I did not mention in original post, was the this is a great quality product and will last Generations. I’m not kidding, it’s made out of steel that is bronze/brass electroplated to look like brass. I like that it seals nicely when it retracts back into th closed position. It makes it where the Zippo lighter fluid doesn’t evaporate for some time..

Again, this lighter is made extremely well and rugged. As stated above, it is made out of steel, it’s just brass electroplated. When you hold it in your hand and use it, you know that this rugged lighter will last for generations after we are no longer here.

It is also very hard for the wind to blow this flame out. I live in Kansas and it is very well known that in Kansas it has on average wind speed of 25 to 30 or 35 mph almost daily. Even my zippo‘s have a harder time staying lit than this one does. It just works really reliable every time. So buy it and you will be very happy.

(Original post) Damaged with RUST!!! That is how it arrived!!!

Battle Soul Glossy, complete with RUST!!! That’s right I said it has rust, meaning there is rust inside the area where the flint goes, and yes the flint spring is rusted too!!! So somehow at the factory it was in water??and then not taken out of sales stock!

Does the lighter work? Yes, for now until the flint spring breaks from rust! And rust eats through the flint housing!!

Another thing is that they claim awesome customer service, well that makes you think when you buy their products they stand by it, BUT on my profile area on the order when it is time for review from customer LONG after receiving the item, It States “NO ITEMS IN THIS ORDER ARE ELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS”. HUM, is that because they knowingly sent me a Defective product??? That wasn’t in the sales description!!

On the website on this item it says delivery to the United States is 4 business days!!! Another lie! I ordered it on July 1st, 2026. By July 7th, it still had not shipped, I had to contact them to tell them to send me the items I ordered. They then apologized for that and shipped same day. I didn’t even receive it until July 17th, 2026!

I wonder if this was a returned item due to rust??? But they then sent it to me!!

What I want is for them to send me a NEW ONE WITHOUT DEFECTS! And sent and received in 4 days as says on website!!! if they want the defect back then they can pay for the return shipping too. And no it isn’t acceptable for them to ask for me to send them back for repairs and then they send it back afterwards…NO they need to make it right by sending me a new one first!

He loves the lighter. Only reason for 4 stars is because the bottom of the lighter has scuff marks and discoloration.

Briquet, ou plutôt petite œuvre d'art, en tous points conforme avec les photos du site. Un bon poids en main, signe dans le cas présent d'une grande qualité. Matériaux noble, finitions extrêmes, utilisation sans le moindre souci ! Un réel très grand plaisir que de commencer cette collection de briquets Thorens ! En acheter un seul me paraît impossible tellement on est agréablement surpris par la qualité par rapport au prix !!! Hubert.

Beautiful product...nice finishing. I was proud giving this gift. A very beautiful package. I will order this again. Delivery took too long but really worth waiting.

To be honest, I half expected these to be cheap and flimsy, but they are far from it. Im definitely happy with my order. They seem sturdy, the tiny welds are immaculate, and the patina on the brass really adds character. The shipping took a while, but not outside of the realm of acceptable for a shipment from china to canada. I will absolutely be ordering again when i decide to grow my collection.

Es ist noch in der Testphase. Mich interessiert, wie lange der Tankinhalt im täglichen Gebrauch reicht. Ansonsten alles cool.

Great solid lighter.

The lighter itself was as expected, however the packaging was disappointing . I expected it to show up in a quality box as this was a gift however it showed up in a crushed red factory sealed box with the contents loose inside, a single piece of bubble wrap it’s only protection for its journey. I would be put off buying any more lighters from this company until international packaging is improved.

13.07.2025 Update meiner Bewertung: Die Lieferung ist Gestern am 12.07.25 wohlbehalten und im Einwandfreien Zustand angekommen.Die Feuerzeuge sind von sehr guter Qualität. Vielen Dank nochmals an den Kundendienst der Firma Thorens der auf meine Anfragen wegen der langen Zollabfertigung immer sofort reagiert hat. Das war auch nicht meine letzte Bestellung bei Firma Thorens. DANKE!
